An ancient Chinese philosopher, Lao Zi, once said: "Humanity is like that of water: nurturing all living creatures without ego, and being content with the places that all men disdain." The STEaM painting is my attempt to capture the nurturing and uplifting energy of steam around a young mother's weight bearing arm. Living in Silicon Vally as a Chinese American artist, witnessing the current COVID-19 out break, the death of George Floyd, and the protests and the riotes followed, I hope STEaM inspires new conversations to nurture humanity of all people.
